不知為何最近總是噩耗不斷，大家知道前天夜里甘肅舟曲縣發生了特大泥石
流災難，目前救援工作仍在進行。在此為災區人民祈禱，祝他們早日度過難關、
重振家園！今天我們來學習一下關于“救援”的英語，希望我們每個人都能為舟
曲的救援工作獻上一份心！

    英語中說到“救援”，用得最多的就是 rescue 這個詞。它既可以作動詞用，
也可作名詞，有個常用詞組叫 come/go to one's rescue或者 come/go to the
rescue of ……，就是表示“援救……”。接下來我們來看幾個例句：

    He made a valiant attempt to rescue the child.

    他勇敢地試著去救那孩子。

    The rescue is at hand.

    救援近在咫尺。（*at hand在手邊；即將到來）

    The police car went in full career to the rescue.

    警車開足馬力前去救援。（*in full career 全速地）

    The child who fell into the river would have died if the young man
hadn't come to his rescue.

    要不是那個青年相救，落水的孩子早就沒命了。

    另外，“援救人員”就是 rescuer，“援救隊”叫 rescue team，“援救行
動”叫 rescue operation 或者 rescue mission.例：

    Rescuers worked in relays to save the trapped miners.

    救援人員輪班工作以營救遇難的礦工。（*in relays以輪班方式，輪流地）

    We were on the brink of disaster when the rescue team arrived.

    當救援隊到達時，我們已經處于災難的邊緣。（*on the brink of瀕于，在
……的邊緣）

    The rescue operation lasted three days.

    救援活動持續了三天。

    與 rescue 用法非常相似的還有 aid，它也可以同時作名詞和動詞，同樣可
以說 come/go to one's aid.例如：

    Soldiers went to the earthquake-striken area at top speed to aid the
injured person.

    軍人火速趕往地震災區展開救援。（*at top speed 火速）

    The United Nations on Tuesday issued an urgent appeal for emergency
aid to Haiti.

    周二聯合國發表了聲明，呼吁（各方）對海地進行緊急援救。

    The rescuers came to his aid in time.

    救援者及時趕來給予他救助。

    最后說一下，first aid 是“急救”的意思，我們每個人都應該掌握一些基
本的急救措施，那樣也許能在關鍵時刻拯救一條生命：
