   一、君誠師生到訪日本人學校交流學習SIBS visit the Beijing Japanese school

  君誠學校歷來非常重視學生的品格教育。為了更好地提升學生的素養,學習日本的文化、文明禮儀以及動手能力,同時增進國際學校之間的交流,本周四上午,君誠學校的老師們帶領全體二年級的同學們到訪了日本人學校進行學習。

  小同學們進入日本人學校的件事就是換上干凈的鞋子,學校內的地板可是非常干凈整潔。在籃球場上,日本人學校一二年級的小朋友們整齊的坐在地板上熱烈歡迎君誠師生,還給我們表演了活力滿滿的舞蹈。

  為了體驗日本人學校學生的日常生活,君誠的孩子們在老師的組織下有序的打掃教室和樓道的衛生。看著小伙伴們忙活的熱火朝天,互幫互助,享受勞動的快樂。結束后,雙方小朋友們互相贈送小禮物,依依不舍的告別。

  SIBS has always attached great importance to students' character education. In order to improve students' quality, learn Japanese culture, etiquette and practical ability, and enhance the communication between international schools, teachers of SIBS led all the students of grade two to visit the Japanese school in Beijing on Thursday morning. The first thing they did when they arrived at the Japanese school is to change into clean shoes. The floor is very clean and tidy. On the basketball court, grade 1 and grade 2 children of the Japanese school neatly sat on the floor warmly welcome SIBS teachers and students, also gave us a vigorous dance. Inorder to experience the daily life of Japanese school students, SIBS’s children were organized by their teachers to clean the classrooms and corridors in an orderly manner. Look at the friends being busy in full swing, help each other,enjoy the joy of labor. After the end, the two sides of the children gave each other small gifts, reluctant to part from the farewell.

  二、小學圖書館升級啦!ES Library Update!

  小學圖書館以一個嶄新的面孔又跟同學們見面啦!這次,圖書館新購置了明亮鮮艷和豐富多彩的裝飾,溫馨的家具以及柔軟的地毯和靠墊,同學們可以盡情享受讀書的快樂。

  找書現在也變得既簡單又有趣。我們設置了字母瀏覽架,讓低年級的孩子在符合他們的視線里,一眼可見屬于他們水平的標簽和書籍。所有非小說類(non-fiction)書籍也很容易識別,每本書都有單獨的標簽,以便學生在看完書之后可以將它們放回到正確的地方。這將有助于學生的讀書習慣過渡到中學圖書館階段。

  所有的研究表明,為享受而閱讀的學生不僅擁有更好的詞匯、語法和理解力,而且對周圍的世界也有更好的了解,從而有助于身心的發育和快樂。我們的目標是:君誠的所有學生都培養出發自內心的對閱讀的熱愛,這樣他們才會有的機會在生活中取得成功。圖書館的轉型是君誠一直致力于實現這一目標的方式之一。

  Transformation of the Elementary School Library has reached another milestone! The new,bright and colorful decorations certainly make our library a very inviting place to be. Students are enjoying the funky furniture as well as the soft carpet and cushions. Finding books is now easy and fun. There are browsing boxes at the perfect height for the younger students and all the levelled books are clearly marked with new labels. All the non-fiction books are also easily identifiable with easy to read signs, and each book isindividually labelled so students can return them to the correct place. This will help students with the transition to the Middle School Library.

  All the research suggests that students who read for enjoyment not only have better vocabulary, grammar and comprehension, but they also gain a better understanding of the world around them which can contribute to being happy. It is our aim at SIBS,that all students develop a love of reading so that they will have the best chance of being successful in their lives. The transformation of the library is one way that SIBS has been working towards achieving this goal.Thanks to Mrs Wang, Ms Nancy and Mr A for their help.   三、五年級數學探究式課程——Grade 5 math inquiry course

  數學,是研究數量、結構、變化、空間以及信息等概念的一門學科。在君誠,老師們通過自制的教具,在游戲中引導學生探究事情發生的可能性。首先,通過師生一起玩“石頭剪刀布“、“拋硬幣”的游戲,使學生直觀感知“不確定現象”。其次,通過玩“翻撲克牌”和“幸運大轉盤”,進而研究“確定現象”,結合所實踐的具體情景,讓學生感受到事情發生的確定性,并能進行準確描述。本次數學課,學生在活動過程中懂得數學存在于現實生活中,從而激發學生學習數學的興趣。

  Mathematicsis the study of the concepts of quantity, structure, change, space and information. In SIBS, teachers use homemade teaching tools to guide students in games to explore the possibility of things happening. First of all, students and teachers played the games of "rock, paper, scissors" and"coin flip" together to make students intuitively perceive the"uncertain phenomenon". Secondly, through playing "flip CARDS" and "lucky big wheel", the "confirmation phenomenon" is further studied. In combination with the specific situationin practice, students can feel the certainty of the occurrence of things and accurately describe them. In this math class, students understood the existence of mathematics in real life in the process of activities , so as to stimulate students' interest in learning mathematics.

  四、生物俱樂部“水培果蔬”實驗Biology club "hydroponic fruit and vegetable" experiment

  在生物實驗室,同學們精心栽培的“水培果蔬”實驗已經進行到了第9周。同學們在泡沫箱的蓋子適當位置畫上圓圈,由老師用電鉆開孔器鉆出圓洞,可以將培養籃放入洞里。每個泡沫箱上打2-4個洞,種植2-4棵植物。上周同學們已經育苗了小白菜、油菜和生菜種子,大部分種子已經發芽了。做好培養箱,配制好營養液,里面含有植物生長所需的鈣、鎂、氮等無機元素。同學們將發芽的小苗放入水培籃,再將水培籃放入培養箱的洞里。最后將培養箱放在窗臺上,接受陽光的沐浴。

  In the biology lab, students have been carefully cultivated "hydroponic fruits and vegetables" experiment for the ninth week. Students draw a circle on the cover of the foam box. The teacher used a drill to drill a round hole where you can put the cultivate basket. Make 2-4 holes in each foam box and plant 2-4plants. Last week the students had already planted cabbage, rape and lettuce seeds, most of which had sprouted. Get the incubator and nutrient solution ready, which contains calcium, magnesium, nitrogen and other inorganic elements that plant growth needs. The students put the sprouting seedlings into the hydroponic basket, and then put the hydroponic basket into the hole of the incubator. Finally, place the incubator on the window sill and accept the sunlight.

  五、君誠足球隊友誼賽戰報Friendship match of SIBS football team

  本周三,在一場友誼賽中,君誠男子足球隊(U11組7人制)以5:0擊敗了來訪的力邁足球隊。自從去年開始參加北京國際學校BASE聯賽(全稱為Beijing Area Sports Exchange,由北京的14所國際學校組成,包含匯佳、鼎石、君誠、青苗、王府、凱文等)以來,君誠一直保持不俗的戰績,首年即奪得。

  SIBS men's football team (out of seven in group U11) beat visiting Limai football team with 5-0 in a friendship match on Wednesday. SIBS has pacitipated in the BASE league of Beijing international schools (known as Beijing Area Sports Exchange, consist of 14 international schools in Beijing, including Huijia, Keystone, SIBS, BIBS, Royal and Kaiwen etc.) since last year, we has maintained a good record and won the championship in the first year.

  六、藝術設計部本周剪影 Artand design department silhouette of this week

  六七年級本周為色彩基礎概述,主要是從素描到色彩的過度階段,用單色顏料表現畫面的空間、光影、色彩。九年級繼續精微素描,主要根據學生之前的攝影作品,練習寫實的觀察能力和表現能力。八年級和十年級的專業課因為PSAT考試調整到下周一進行。

  This week, the course for G6 and 7 is an overview of the basis of color, mainly from the sketch to the transition stage of color, use monochrome pigment to performance screen space, light, color.Grade 9 continued the fine sketch, mainly according to the students photography before, practice realistic observation and performance ability. The eighth and tenth grade major courses have been rescheduled for next Monday because of the PSAT.

  七、八至十一年級參加PSAT考試

  PSAT英文全稱為Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test ,對于準備申請美國大學的學生來說,PSAT是SAT前的熱身賽,更是對美國優秀學生獎學金(national merit scholarship)的角逐。每年十月份,美國都有140多萬11年級學生參加PAST考試。此次,君誠的8-11年級全體參加,預計成績會在兩個月后公布。

  PSAT,or Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test, is a Preliminary contest for students applying for American universities and a competition for the national merit scholarship. Every October, more than 1.4 million 11th-grade students inthe United States take the examination. This time, grade 8 to grade 11 students of SIBS all participated, the results are expected to be announced in two months.
