Harry 向Susan 詢問(wèn)將要去的飯店的電話號(hào)碼。他給家里打了個(gè)電話，告知
他的臨時(shí)保姆Betty ，如果他的女兒Michelle有什么急事，可以打5551720 找他。

Harry ： Do you know the phone number of the restaurant ？ I'd like
to call home and leave the number with the baby-sitter. Susan ： Sure.
The number is ……five five five……seventeen twenty. Harry ： May I use
the phone ？

Harry ： Five five five …one seven two oh. Hello ？ Hi ， Michelle.
It's Daddy. Can I speak to Betty？ I want to leave the phone number of
the restaurant……Hi， Betty. I'll be at five five five ……seventeen
twenty. OK. Thanks. See you later. Well ， that's done. Shall we go ？

Susan ： I'm ready. See you later ， Marilyn. Marilyn ： Have a nice
evening. Harry： Bye， Marilyn. Hope to see you again. Marilyn： Me ，
too. Have fun ！

Susan ： Thanks. Harry： After you.

「語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)精講」

1. I'd like to call home and leave the number with the baby-sitter.
I'd like to …（I would like to ）是較客氣的表示希望或要求的說(shuō)法。

baby-sitter ，臨時(shí)保姆。在美國(guó)，父母晚間外出時(shí)都要找自己比較熟悉的
臨時(shí)保姆（baby-sitter ）來(lái)照看孩子，按小時(shí)付給工資。通常他們外出前都會(huì)
將所去處的電話號(hào)碼留給baby-sitter ，回來(lái)后一般都要開(kāi)車送他們回家。

2. five five five …seventeen twenty 5-5-5-17-20. 這是念電話號(hào)碼的
一種形式。念完前三位號(hào)碼，再兩個(gè)兩個(gè)地念后四位號(hào)碼。

3. Five five five …one seven two oh. 5-5-5-1-7-2-0.這是念電話號(hào)碼
的另一種形式。念完前三位號(hào)碼，再一個(gè)一個(gè)地念后四位號(hào)碼。

4. Shall we go？

用"Shall we ……？" 來(lái)提建議，顯得禮貌。

5. Hope to see you again. 希望再見(jiàn)到你。對(duì)新朋友道別時(shí)講的話。

6. After you. 請(qǐng)先走。一般男士讓女士先下車或先出門時(shí)講的話。
