Pi Day |天津美達菲數學日

　　At MacDuffie we celebrate maths and science in our classes and across the curriculum. A love of mathematics is of course super important to our studies, but it is also an essential life skill to promote in all our young people, so they can fully engage in the technological challenges of life today. A creative approach to numeracy and a deeper understanding of the insights afforded by the questioning and investigative approaches afforded by scientific study will give the essential skills needed for both College and work lives. And with our amazing team of teachers we can make learning an inspirational activity every day.

　　That is why we celebrate Pi Day here at MacDuffie and this year our online activities, games and competitions have been an excellent example of our community coming together to work and have fun whilst showing off our Math skills.

　　我們在美達菲的課堂中跨學科共同慶祝數學和科學。對數學的熱愛對于我們的學習當然是非常重要的，但它也是一種年輕人必不可少的生活技能，只有掌握了數學技能，孩子們才能充分適應如今生活中的科技挑戰。通過提問獲得的創造性計算方法和更深的洞察力、通過科學研究獲得的調查方法都是將來的大學學習和工作的必備能力。有了我們優秀的教師團隊，我們每天都能使學習成為一項鼓舞人心的活動。

　　這也是我們美達菲學校為什么要慶祝數學日，今年我們在線的活動、游戲和比賽是一個很好的例子—在展示數學技能的同時提現團隊合作和學習的快樂!

　　You all really put forth a fantastic effort. Judging the work was not an easy task. The amount of creativity and imagination many of you displayed was wonderful to see. It was exciting to read your ppts and posters to see how much you knew and learned about Pi and its significance.

　　你們在活動中都付出了極大的努力。評判你們的作品實在很困難。同學們所展示出來的創造性和想象力是驚人的。欣賞你們的展示、海報，看到你們對Pi及其意義的理解是令人興奮的事情。

　　On the afternoon of Friday, March 13th, a 7th and 8th grade of π thematic knowledge and fun contest was held. The activity was divided into two sessions. The students who spoke in the microphone were given opportunities to answer questions, and the questions in the knowledge contest were both easy knowledge about π combined with the science and mathematics they learned, and small activities that allowed students to understand π in daily life, such as within a limited time find as many round items as possible at home, or have the largest circumference than the round items found in a given period of time. The game is very fierce. The seventh and eighth grade scores have been chasing each other.

　　The second part of the activity was a guessing game. Students draw patterns and guess the described objects according to the teacher's description. Of course, all the patterns have a round participation (first picture is about the most popular app recently –ding talk ) In this activity, the students discussed enthusiastically and participated actively. In the end, the eighth grade scored 65 to 60 to beat the seventh grade. The prizes are Houliyou Pie after school starts!

　　3月13日周五下午，舉辦了一場七八年級π主題知識趣味對抗賽， 活動分為兩個部分，部分為知識競答環節，在此環節中， 聽到老師指令后，最先連麥的同學，獲得搶答機會，知識競答環節中的題，既有結合所學科學數學關于π的小知識，還有讓學生們認識日常生活中的π的小活動，如在限定的時間內，在家里找到盡可能多的圓形物品，或者在規定的時間內比比誰找到的圓形物品周長最大，比賽很激烈，七八年級比分一直你追我趕，僵持不下。

　　活動第二部分為猜圖游戲，同學們根據老師的描述，畫出圖案并猜測描述的物體，當然所有的圖案都有圓的參與(個圖案正是我們天天用的釘釘軟件圖標)在此活動中，同學們熱烈討論，積極參與，最后總比分八年級以65比60 險勝七年級。獎品是開學后的好麗友派。
