4-5 課文：The examination may be physical – visual inspection， counting， weighting， measuring， chemical test， etc. — or documentary， that is calling for relevant documents such as invoice， banker‘s note， policy of insurance for verifying the value， quantity or description of goods.

課文意思：檢查的方法可以是物理性檢查——肉眼檢查、計數、稱重、丈量、化學檢驗等。 —— 或是文件的檢查，既要求提交相關的文件，如發票，銀行發票，保險單等以此確認貨物的價值，數量或品名。
4-6 課文：The exporter has to submit to the customs authorities the Shipping Bill or Export Declaration or Outward Export Permit as may be prescribed by law in the prescribed form.
注釋：Shipping Bill： 裝運單 Export Declaration： 出口申報單 Export Permit： 出口許可證
課文意思：出口商必須按照法律已規定的格式向海關當局提交裝運單或出口申報單或出口許可證。
4-7 課文：The Shipping Bill may be accompanied by such documents as may be prescribed by the customs authorities， for example， invoices and packaging list， export licence （for controlled goods）， inspection certificate （wherever applicable）， health certificate for live animals， etc.
注釋：accompany by： 伴隨，隨著 packaging list： 包裝單 export licence： 出口許可證 controlled goods： 受控貨物 inspection certificate：檢驗證書 applicable： 可適用的，可應用的 health certificate： 健康證書，檢疫證書 live animals： 活動物（live： 活的）
