    「語言點精講」

    1. I'd better unpack. I'd better do sth.我最好做某事unpack：打開
（行李等），是反義前綴un加上動詞 pack 構成的。

    2. Pleasant dreams. 做個好夢，在別人準備就寢前的道別語。亦說 "Sweet
dreams."

    3. I have the key ， but it doesn't work. 鑰匙在我這兒，但它打不開。

    work的意思是“起作用，行得通，有效”，是不及物動詞，不帶賓語。

    4. It's our family tree. family tree：家譜，家族的歷史。

    美國人現在流行寫“家譜”，甚至有專門的公司幫助尋找家譜。

    5. Fabulous ！

    太好了。這是口語用法。

    美語中說某物很好，有不少夸張性的說法，如：wonderful ，marvelous ，
fantastic ，terrific以及這里出現的 fabulous 等。其中除了 wonderful外，
都不宜用于正式場合，因為不免有些孩子氣。另外，注意terrible是很糟糕的意
思，請不要與terrific混淆。

    6. Why， I didn't know that your grandfather was born in Germany.
Why ：你看。這里的why 不是疑問詞，而是用在句首表示驚訝的情緒。

    7. Like I always said ， you look just like Grandma.我一直這么說，
你長得像奶奶。

    Like I always said：就像我一直說的那樣。這是一種比較口語的說法，在
書面的較正式的語言中，通常不用like而用連詞as.
