在這個屬于沉淀和收獲的季節,經過整個暑期的討論和梳理,青苗學校在原有辦學理念的基礎上,全面升級了的使命(Mission)、愿景(Vision)、價值觀(Values),并擬定了更加明確的培養目標(Goal)。
1963年,馬丁·路德·金在華盛頓林肯紀念堂發表演講《我有一個夢想》,成功“用一個人的夢想,點燃了一群人的理想”。
對于青苗而言,全面升級后的使命、愿景、價值觀以及培養目標(MVVG),是整個學校的夢想,也是全體青苗人的理想和方向。

二十五年前,施華校長懷著一顆“母親的私心”創立青苗,從“幼吾幼”推及至“人之幼”,創新中西合璧教育新模式。當初小小的青苗現已發展成為擁有全國23所校區、涵蓋從幼兒園到高中的教育集團。在施華校長的帶領下,青苗人秉持“采中西合璧之萃,品文化融合之美”的辦學理念,二十五年如一日堅守教育事業,始終致力于探索具有中國特色、融通世界的新時代教育之路。
“從1980年起開辦的為各國駐華大使子女及外籍人員子女學校,到百分百復制國外教育模式的國際學校,中國的國際化教育經歷了1.0、2.0時代;后來,隨著我國綜合國力和國際影響力的躍升,尋找前沿教育的家長和教育家們越來越意識到,全盤西化的教育培養出的“香蕉人”競爭力日漸喪失,唯有“植根中國、擁抱世界”的孩子才能真正贏得未來。于是國際化教育進入3.0時代,國際教育工作者們意識到中國的國際教育要既有中國情懷,又有國際特色;既要為孩子扎下中國文化的根,又要打開他們的全球視野、為未來發展賦能。
隨著教育理念的進一步優化,教育工作者們愈發認識到“發展學習者的心智能力”的重要性,于是中國的國際化教育進入4.0時代,教學方式也以“知識集成”為主轉變為“互動式教學”,更加關注對學生的創造力、創造性思維的激發與保護,倡導以自主探究為主要學習方式,提升學子們應對未來社會挑戰所必須的核心素養。

今天,我們明確提出“做扎根中國、融通世界的新時代教育”,并將之作為青苗使命,這不僅是對青苗25年來教育理想的歸納和總結,更是一種號召與信心。希望我們的青苗,帶著過去二十余年中西融合的辦學經驗,能夠做出代表未來學校的新維度、新樣態,被更多同行者看到、認同并加入。合抱之木,生于毫末。十年樹木,百年樹人。相信種子,相信歲月。卓然獨立,如其所是。
25 years ago, out of the selfish motives of a mother, Ms. Kathy Shi founded Beanstalk Education, providing students with a well-rounded international education that integrates Chinese and Western educational philosophies, cultural elements, and best practices. As of today, that little beanstalk has become an education group of 23 schools in China, covering from kindergarten to senior high. Under Ms. Kathy Shi’s leadership, Beanstalk people have been committed to its unique education concept, and will work towards a new-era-education rooted in China and integrating the world.

From the schools exclusively for the children of foreign diplomatic personnel in the 1980s, to the international schools that 100% mirror foreign education concepts, Chinese international education grew from version 1.0 to 2.0. With China’s overall national power rises, more leading education experts and parents realize that those who receive only western education are losing their competencies, and students will be true future winners only if they embrace the world, while keeping Chinese cultural roots. In the 3.0 version, educators understand that Chinese cultural roots are equally important as international features to our students when we give them global vision and future capabilities.
As education concepts continue to optimize, educators have realized the significance of developing learner’s mental abilities. In the Chinese international education 4.0 era, education has evolved from the integration of knowledge to interactive teaching and learning. Student’s creativity and creative thinking are further protected and inspired. Inquiry-based learning are encouraged in order to improve student’s core competencies for the future.

Today, our commitment of working towards a new-era-education rooted in China and integrating the world is not only a conclusion of Beanstalk’s 25 years of education ideal, but also a summon and faith. 青苗創始人兼董事長施華校長早在1998年創校之際,就堅定地認為:青苗教育必須以中華文化為根基,博采中西教育之長。如今,伴隨著世界多極化、經濟全球化、社會信息化、文化多樣化深入發展,加之“后疫情時代”的到來,讓每個人都深刻感知到未來的多變、復雜、模糊和不確定。

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics made Eileen Gu known by the whole world. On social medias people followed and discussed about her growth, her life, her family, and her career plans. From Eileen’s growth process, one can see the diversified interest cultivation, private school, and vacation lifestyle of the US middle class, and also the Mathematical Olympiad class which every Chinese parent understands deeply. This is a perfect example of today’s globalized and integrated world, just like many Chinese parents would hope for their children, to be well-educated, to have a global vision, to have interests besides textbooks, and to be able to express their true feelings and opinions.

美國教育家Glenn Doman有一句話:“學習是生活中最有趣和最偉大的游戲。所有的孩子生來就這樣認為,并且將繼續這樣認為,直到我們使他相信學習是非常艱難和討厭的工作。”
可悲的是,如今太多由評價、競爭、排名、恐懼、焦慮驅動的學校,讓我們的孩子漸漸失去好奇,失去勇氣……一所由恐懼驅動的學校,教育還沒開始,就已結束。
我們的學校要走向未來,就要創造一所沒有恐懼的學校,為孩子們營造一個生態的、允許叛逆的、容許犯錯的、去中心化的、多元的學校,讓孩子在相對自由、安全的環境中,追隨自己的內心和熱愛,主動探索這個廣闊的世界、主動發掘自己與生俱來的天賦、主動完成從已知領域向未知領域的冒險。
而冒險,需要什么?需要成年人們用愛、關心、支持,賦予他們勇往直前、做更好自己的勇氣和力量。我們希望每個孩子能夠意識到他自己才是教育的目標,可以憑借獨立自主和合作的精神來探索新的角色、觀點和策略,靈活面對各種來自未來的各種挑戰和變化,堅定信念,無懼挫折,在生命的長河里持續地努力。
US education expert Glenn Doman once said: ‘Learning is perhaps the most interesting and greatest game in life. Every child believed this, and will continue to believe, until we make them think learning is hard and unpleasant.’
Sadly, today there are too many schools destroy our children’s curiosity and courage with ranking, competition, fear, and anxiety… Education was ended before it could even start.
A future school is a school with no fear. A future should be open, diversified, and decentralized, where a free and safe environment is protected that allows mistake and encourages students to follow their passion explore the world with their instincts and gifts.
What does venturing take? Love, Care, and Support from adults, to give them the power and courage to march forward. We want every child to know that the ultimate goal of education is for themselves to be able to explore next roles, next ideas, or new strategics, independently or within a team, and to face the challenges and changes from a unprecedented future.

由苗到藤——在青苗2022屆畢業典禮上,畢業生王一寧被授予“青藤獎學金”(約折合人民幣40萬元整)。從三年級就在青苗就讀的王一寧,今年榮獲藤校布朗大學的錄取,這意味著青苗“從苗到藤”的辦學理想次邁出了實質性的一步。有了這個開始,我們相信從青苗到藤校的這條路,會被更多青苗學子一步一步踩得更加清晰、更加開闊。

有人說,要想不迷茫,必須要有使命感;要想有方向感,就要有愿景;要想凝聚同舟共濟的人,就要有價值觀。
越是不確定的時代,信仰、使命、愿景、價值觀這些“選擇之錨”就愈加重要,它們不會讓我們每一次都贏,但在選擇的關頭,它們確實可以讓我們的選擇變得簡單。
