黑利伯瑞關于美國大學申請門戶網站詳解

　　Common Application是一個用于申請部分美國高等院校(包括47個州和華盛頓特區)的應用網站。近期公布了針對2017-18年的一些新的變化。

　　●在Common Application上傳統來講，學生邀請自己的在校申請顧問參與申請過程的指導，現在，學生也可以邀請校外的一些資源比如community-based organizations，outside advisor，independent counselor等;這意味著，除了本校升學指導顧問外，學生還可以有其他的人來參與指導其申請，獨立申請顧問也可以參與進來。這一變化是重大的，也是向其對手平臺Coalition學習借鑒的結果。

　　●成績Self-reported系統，也就是允許申請者自己填寫所學習課程和成績分數;因為一些大學是要求學生在申請過程中自行填寫課程和成績分數的，這樣的舉措是為了方便申請者和一部分大學的錄取要求，并將在2017年8月1日后正式啟用。

　　●和Google Drive的整合，允許學生直接調用存在Google Drive上的文件和資料用于申請的補充，包括簡歷、作業、項目等。

　　稍早不久前，Common Application也宣布了新近加入其組織的大學新成員，這使得在未來一年，將有來自美國49個州、全世界18個國家(美國)、約700所院校使用該系統。

　　Common Application之前公布了2017-18申請季的最新文書題目，在局部調整之余再增加了2個題目和選擇，這樣目前申請者就有了7個選擇。題目如下：

　　1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story. [沒有變化]談重要的背景信息、個性化特點、天賦、有意義的經歷等。

　　2. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? [修改]談挑戰、挫折或失敗。

　　3. Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome? [修改]談曾經挑戰過的觀念和想法。

　　4. Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution. [沒有變化]談自己曾經或今后想解決的問題。

　　5. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others. [修改]談成就、事件或個人成長等。

　　6. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more? [新增]談激發了興趣、自己花費了大量時間的話題、想法或概念。

　　7. Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design. [新增]自由話題。
