Diplomacy 1) May I introduce you to my friend Susan? 恕我介紹一下我的朋友蘇珊。 * “May I...?”是“可以……嗎？”的意思，用以求取承諾或允許時使用的措辭，是極為重要的用法之一。 e.g. You may come if you wish. 如果你愿意的話，你就來吧。 2) This is my friend Susan. 這位是我的朋友蘇珊。 * 注意這里要用“This is...”，而不說“She is...”。 3) I'm glad to meet you. 幸會。高興見到你。 * 若要強調(diào)高興，可如 I am so glad to...般把 so 插在里面。這 so 多見于女性使用。 4) Cathy has told me so much about you. 我常常聽到凱茜提到你。 * so much about you 是“提到很多有關(guān)你的事”的意思。 5) Goodbye, it was nice meeting you. 再見，很榮幸認識你。 * 這是美國一般用于和首次認識的人道別的招呼語。 也可以說做“I'm glad to have met you.”。 6) How have you been? 你過的還好嗎？ * 這是問人自前次離開之后情況的慣用表達。 7) I haven't seen you for a long time. 好久沒有見到你了。 * 也蘊含著“如何打發(fā)日子”的意思。 8) How is it going with you? 你過得怎樣？ * 問現(xiàn)在的情況，常用于日常會話中。 9) Please stop by (drop in) sometime. 請于近日過來坐坐。 * stop by 是“順道來”，有時也使用 stop in 或 drop in。 10) Please call me and let me know. 請打電話告訴我。 * let me know 是“通知我”，and 是類似 to 的用法。 11) We are having a party and would like you to come. 我們要開派對，能請您光臨嗎？ * 是邀請的表達，would you like to come 是“希望您能光臨”。 若關(guān)系親密時，是說“How about joining us?”亦可。 12) We'd love to have you. 我們很想邀請您。www.Ｅxamda.CoM * would love to...和would like to...都是“很想……”，love 在口語上是作 like very much 的意思。 13) We're having a little get-together Friday night. 周五晚上我們有個小派對。 * a little get-together 是指“小派對”、“小宴會”的意思。 14) Feel free to bring your brother if he would like to come. 如果喜歡的話，你不妨帶令兄一起來。 * feel free to...是“隨意、不拘束”的意思。 15) Shall I come by early to help you get ready? 我提早一點來，幫忙準備宴會好嗎？ * get ready 是“準備”的意思。 Shall I...? 是“我……好嗎？”問對方意向的問法，使用的很廣泛。 e.g. Shall we all go to the film tonight? 我們今晚都去看電影嗎？ 16) Please come in; you're right on time. 請進，你正好準時到來。 * on time 是“按時、準時”的意思。 right 在這里用于強調(diào)（準時）。 17) I'm so glad you could make it. 我很高興趕上時間。 * make it 是“成功”，“趕上時間”等的常用措辭。 18) Please make yourself at home. 請隨意一點。 * at home 是“如同在自己家里，賓至如歸”。 19) Can I fix you a drink? 我給你調(diào)飲料好嗎？ * fix 是“調(diào)飲料”，這是問人要不要飲料時的表達。 20) Would anyone like seconds (a second helping)? 誰要換其他的飲料？ * second 是“另一的、其他的”的意思，亦即“換”之意。 e.g. You will need a second pair of shoes. 你需要再準備一雙鞋。 21) May I refill your drink? 再喝一杯如何？ * refill 是“再注滿”，對于食物則是“換”的意思。 22) That night we partied until dawn. 那晚我們痛飲到天亮。 23) We'll drink your health. 我們?yōu)槟慕】蹈杀?br /> 24) Would you like me to take you around introduce you? 現(xiàn)在讓我替你向大家作介紹好嗎？ * take you around and introduce you 是（在派對上）替某人向大家輪流介紹的表達方法。 25) Does everyone have enough to drink? 諸位喝得盡興了沒有？ 26) I'm glad you enjoyed yourself; we enjoyed having you. 我高興你過得愉快。承您光臨，我們也過得很快樂。 * 主人送客人到大門口時的寒暄語。 27) Thank you for inviting us; we had a wonderful time. 謝謝您的邀請，使我們過得很快樂。 |
