Smell (1) 1) Ellen liked to smell her mother's cooking, when she came home. 艾倫回到家來，喜歡聞一聞母親做的菜（一定是肚子餓了）。 2) The scent of roses is wonderful. 玫瑰的芳香非常棒！ *scent 是指獸類、花、水果、甘草等那特有而淡，但會逐漸擴大的香氣。 3) Her garden was most fragrance in the spring. 她家的花園到了春天芬芳四溢。 *fragrance 是指優雅而舒適清新的氣味，多指成長中的植物。 4) The perfume was very delicate. 那種香氣非常優雅。 *perfume 是指舒適而比較清香的氣味，淡香氛。 5) When the dog needs a bath, he begins to stink. 當那條狗想要入浴的時候，已經開始發臭了。 6) At times, the smell from the gutter can be rank. 從下水溝時常冒出刺鼻的氣味。 *rank 指惡臭強烈，是加在腐敗之物上的形容詞。 7) Some restaurants give out an odor that reaches to the street. 一些餐廳里面的氣味飄到了街上。 *odor 是指比 scent 更濃更清楚的味道。 8) The butter has an odor of cheese about it. 奶油的周圍飄蕩著干酪的味道。 9) John wakes in the morning to the aroma of coffee. 約翰在早晨會因為咖啡的香味而醒來。 *aroma 是一面擴大，一面撲鼻，令人聞起來舒服的氣味。用于指咖啡或香煙的氣味。 |
