2009年10月在職攻讀碩士聯(lián)考英語(yǔ)必備詞匯虛擬語(yǔ)氣的用法 
1. 動(dòng)詞wish后接賓語(yǔ)從句時(shí)，從句謂語(yǔ)要用虛擬語(yǔ)氣
（1）從句一般過(guò)去時(shí)/過(guò)去進(jìn)行時(shí)（與現(xiàn)在事實(shí)相反）
I wish I were you.
I wish I were not so lazy.
（2）從句過(guò)去完成時(shí)/would have +過(guò)去分詞/could have +過(guò)去分詞（與過(guò)去事實(shí)相反）
I wish I had known the answer to the question.
She wished she had stayed at home.
I wish I could have gone with you yesterday.
（3）從句would/could +動(dòng)詞原形（不太可能實(shí)現(xiàn)的愿望）
I wish you would go with us tomorrow.
I wish I could be somebody someday.
(4) 從句的時(shí)態(tài)只與從句所指的時(shí)間有關(guān)，而與wish的時(shí)態(tài)無(wú)關(guān)
2. would rather后接句子時(shí)，句子謂語(yǔ)習(xí)慣上要用虛擬語(yǔ)氣
(1) 一般過(guò)去時(shí)表示現(xiàn)在或?qū)��?lái)的愿望
I would rather you had seen the film last night
I’d rather he came tomorrow.
I’d rather you were happy.
(2) 用過(guò)去完成時(shí)表過(guò)去的愿望
I’d rather you hadn’t said it.
I’d rather I had never met you.
I’d rather you had finished your work.
2. it’s time that+過(guò)去式，表示“（早）該干某事了”
I think it’s time you went to school.
It’s time you washed your hair.
It’s time you went home and had a rest.
It’s time you looked ahead and made plans for your examination.
Time前常有high/about修飾：
It’s high time you bought a new car.
I think it’s high time that she made up her mind.
3. if only 與 I wish一樣，也用于表示與事實(shí)相反的愿望，其后所虛擬語(yǔ)氣的時(shí)態(tài)與 wish 后所接時(shí)態(tài)的情況相同，且if only通常獨(dú)立使用，后面沒(méi)有主句。
If only the tapes weren’t missing.
If only I had listened to my friends!
If only I were better looking.
4. but for 要不是
But for your help, I couldn’t pass the examination.
But for my friend’s assistance, I couldn’t go through the difficult times.
5. without… 沒(méi)有…的話
Without air, neither animal nor plant would live.
Without your help, I would never overcome the difficulties.
6. lest (以免，唯恐)， for fear that (以免，唯恐)
Hide it lest he see it.
He takes an umbrella for fear that it (should) rain.
She is working hard for fear (that) she should lag behind others. 
7. as if (as though)引導(dǎo)的方式狀語(yǔ)從句或表語(yǔ)從句，有時(shí)用虛擬語(yǔ)氣
(1) 表示與現(xiàn)在事實(shí)相反，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用一般過(guò)去時(shí)
He speaks as if he knew everything about the accident.
They treat me as though I were a stranger.
My mother is always talking as if she were a doctor of medicine.
(2) 表示與過(guò)去事實(shí)相反，用過(guò)去完成時(shí)
He talks as if he had been abroad.
You seem as if you had done all that you should have.
(3) 表示將來(lái)的可能性不大，用would (might, could)+動(dòng)詞原形
