　　四、翻譯講解

　　1. 整個句子結構比較復雜是由while引起的狀語從句。

　　2. 從句部分有一個比較簡單的結構it is easy to ignore…可以翻譯為：很容易忽視…。這種形式主語的結構在考研翻譯中出現過多次。請參考01年72題，05年65題，07年49題和50題。

　　3. 但是，要注意到ignore這個動詞的賓語部分是the effect of…，in our contact with them部分是狀語。先翻譯in our contact with them，意思是“在我們與他們的接觸過程中，或者在我們和他們交往的時候”。這里的them可以根據上文指代明確，是指the young年輕人。所以，可以翻譯為：在我們和年輕人接觸的時候，很容易忽略…。

　　4. the effect of our acts upon their disposition這個部分，有一個比較難的單詞disposition，是“性格、傾向”等意思。這個單詞是一個明顯的“超綱詞”，但是可以根據上文“我們的行為對他們…的影響”獲得答案。所以，這個部分翻譯為：我們的行為對他們性格的影響。

　　5. 再說說while這個詞，意思基本只有兩個，一個是“當…的時候”，一個是“雖然…”。前一個意思在考研翻譯中幾乎沒有考過；而第二個意思“雖然”則屢屢出現過，如99年71題，2000年73題，06年48題，07年50題和08年48題。所以，整個從句部分可以翻譯為：在我們和年輕人接觸的時候，雖然容易忽略我們的行為對他們性格的影響�；蛘撸涸诤湍贻p人接觸的時候，雖然我們容易忽略我們的行為對他們性格的影響。

　　6. 主句部分是it is not so easy as in dealing with adults，如果稍微不注意，可以能就會翻譯為：和成年人相處則沒有那么容易。我們需要注意到not so…as…這個結構，意思是“不像…那么…”。為了說明這個比較結構，我們舉兩個簡單例子看看：It was not so bad as last time！這次不像上次那么壞！It did not take so long as we expected. 時間沒像我們預料的那么久。其實，這個比較結構在99年71題考過類似的as…as…。所以，not so easy as…就可以翻譯為：不像與成年人打交道那么簡單。
