2018考研：英語復習之結構上設置干擾選項如何破

　　在考研英語詞匯考查中針對考研詞匯的搭配或者結構上設置的“用心之處”。

　　結構上設置干擾選項——home

　　之所以選擇home這個詞匯作為這一類型詞匯學習的例題，是因為一是這個詞匯同樣是來源于考研閱讀真題，二是根據這個詞匯，出題人為各位考生在題目選項中埋下了坑。各位小伙伴們先和我來看一下這個詞匯吧：

　　Why mention the elementary schools? Because thanks to these schools our early mechanics , especially in the New England and Middle Atlantic states, were generally literate and at home in arithmetic and in some aspects of geometry and trigonometry.

　　“home”這個詞匯對于我們而言并不陌生，許多考生在比較初接觸英語的時候就已經對這個詞匯很是了解。而在考研英語中，出題人總是不按套路出牌。同樣的，在對這個詞匯的考察上，出題人利用原文中的home一詞設置了原詞復現的干擾選項。但是考生若是仔細閱讀文章段落，就不難發現段落中的home并非是其比較基本的含義“家”，而是作者考察了“be at home in”詞組的意思。“be at home in”是“對...熟悉，精通”的意思，相當于“be familiar with”的意思，因此文章中這句話的意思是“為什么要提小學教育?正是因為有了這些學校，我們的早期技工才普遍能讀會寫，并精通算術及部分幾何和三角，這種情況在新英格蘭和大西洋中部各州尤為可見。”而選項中的home則是利用其基本義“brought about by privileged home training”(產生于優越的家庭訓練)。
